Junior Legal Counsel

On behalf of our client, a payment-provider orchestration company, we are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance Function. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day legal operations of the business during its implementation and growth phases. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer to gain broad, hands-on experience in commercial, corporate and regulatory work within an international fintech environment, with structured mentorship and clear scope to develop.

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepare first drafts of, and review, commercial agreements (such as merchant, PSP, supplier, SaaS and confidentiality agreements) under the supervision of the Head of Legal & Compliance, and assist with negotiations.

● Maintain the company's contract templates, contract register and document management processes, including tracking renewals, key dates and obligations.

● Support corporate governance and company secretarial matters, including preparing Board and shareholder resolutions, minutes and statutory filings, and maintaining corporate records.

● Carry out legal research and prepare clear research notes on financial services, payments, data protection and technology law.

● Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business (for example PSD2, DORA, GDPR and the EU AI Act) and prepare summaries for the Legal & Compliance Function.

● Assist with regulatory implementation projects and internal policy drafting, working alongside senior colleagues and external consultants.

● Act as a point of contact for routine legal queries from Product, Technology, Compliance and Operations teams, escalating where appropriate.

● Liaise with external legal advisers and corporate service providers on instructed matters.

Requirements:

Essential:

● Qualified lawyer in Cyprus, the United Kingdom or another common law jurisdiction, with up to 3 years' post-qualification experience.

● A solid foundation in commercial and/or corporate law, gained through a law firm, in-house role or traineeship.

● Strong drafting, research and analytical skills, with close attention to detail.

● Fluency in English and Greek, both written and spoken, with the ability to draft legal documents in both languages.

● A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage several tasks at once.

● Eagerness to learn and to take on increasing responsibility.

Desirable:

● Exposure to fintech, payments, financial services or technology clients.

● Familiarity with GDPR, AML or financial services regulation.

● Experience with company secretarial or corporate administration work.

● Genuine interest in payments, emerging financial technologies and international business.
