Job description

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Group Compliance / Head of Compliance to lead and oversee the organization’s full spectrum of compliance functions across general, specialist, and industry-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  1.           General Compliance

Full suite general compliance (including but not limited to):

  • KYC/ ODD (both ways for checks conducted upon incoming and checks conducted on external);

  • UBO/ Registrable Controllers declaration;

  • ABCs;

  • Whistleblowing; and

  • Plan and conduct regular internal training.

2.           Specialist Compliance (Industry related sanctions)

  • OFAC, UN, EU, UK and G7 sanctions compliance.

  • Sanctions check on entities/ individuals/ vessels.

  • Sanctions check on proposed voyage orders (ie. port calling/ STS) for vessels, including for cargo origin and applicable Price Cap scheme(s).

3.           Specialist Compliance (Data Privacy)

  • Personal Data compliance (ie. GDPR) including supporting stakeholders in DPIA.

  • Maintaining NDA undertakings (Scope, duration, permitted disclosures, etc…) and set effective controls in document/ information flow.

4.           Industry relations and applicable certification initiatives/ programs.

  • Maintain MACN, TRACE and all other relevant membership.

  • Participate in forums and initiatives lead by these groups of which we are members to.

  • Apply and maintain ISO19600 (Compliance Management System), conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits.

5.           Others

  • Create and maintain Compliance Road Map with regular updates on outlook, milestones and timelines.

  • Maintain/ update/ enforce Organization Compliance and related policies.

  • Coordinate with Treasury on credit risk, forming part of general KYC/ ODD.

  • Responsible for gift register and coordinating with external provider on Whistleblowing channel.

  • Initiatives for corporate governance and risk transfer solutions (ie. insurance).

  • Support other departments in interpreting and enforcement of applicable standards and regulations.

  • Staying ahead of regulatory changes.

Job requirements:

MUST HAVE:

  • Degree in Law or relevant course of study.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in compliance position.

  • Proficiency in legal research and contract management.

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Good time management and project management skills.

  • Core Attribute: Understanding how compliance supports business objectives.

GOOD TO HAVE:

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM).

  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).
