Job description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient management of client portfolios. The successful candidate will lead the team, drive process improvement, and act as a key liaison between clients, auditors, and authorities — taking overall responsibility for the smooth operation of the accounting function.

Annual Salary Range EUR 30-36k.

The position is based in Limassol.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Management & Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate the accounting team in handling the company’s client portfolio

  • Review accounting records, reconciliations and VAT/VIES submissions

  • Supervise and review payroll processing and related tax/social insurance submissions

  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely delivery of all accounting, VAT, and statutory obligations in accordance with Cyprus legislation

  • Manage workflow distribution and team productivity

  • Oversee debtor management and client follow-ups

  • Provide training, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback to team members

  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist in recruitment where necessary

  • Oversee company registrations, deregistrations and changes with relevant authorities

  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, clients, and government authorities

  • Handle complex client enquiries and provide technical guidance

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high service standards

2. Reporting & Strategy

  • Prepare quarterly management reports on departmental financial performance

  • Monitor KPIs (deadlines, recoverability, efficiency, client satisfaction)

  • Monitor client billing, recoverability and portfolio profitability

  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities

  • Assist management with strategic planning and growth initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in an Audit/Accounting/Consulting firm

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • VAT and VIES

    • Cyprus Income Tax

    • Payroll and Social Insurance

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Experience with accounting software
