Job description

On behalf of our client, OneJar is seeking to identify a hands-on Accounting & Finance Team Lead to join their Limassol office.
This role is ideal for a qualified professional who not only brings strong technical and managerial capabilities, but is also willing to be involved operationally and support the team’s day-to-day workflows.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will be both technically strong and operationally hands-on, with responsibilities including:

    • Reviewing and advising on business transactions

    • Supervising and supporting accountants and finance officers

    • Allocating tasks, monitoring deadlines, and balancing team workload

    • Providing coaching, training and ongoing development to team members

    • Ensuring adherence to internal controls, processes and accounting policies

    • Assisting with annual budgets and rolling forecasts

    • Performing variance analysis (actual vs budget), providing commentary and proposing corrective actions

    • Developing dashboards and KPIs for financial monitoring

    • Reviewing and occasionally processing accounting transactions when required

    • Overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes

    • Reviewing management accounts and financial statements under IFRS

    • Reviewing accounting reports for Funds

    • Supporting risk management framework implementation

    • Ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance across all financial reporting

Job requirements

Competencies & Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or related field

  • ACCA/ACA qualification (mandatory)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years post-qualification

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, accruals, budgeting, and financial controls

  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills

  • High proficiency with ERP systems (Odoo is an advantage)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders

  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure

  • Hands-on approach to supporting the team where needed

  • Fluent in Greek and English (verbal & written)

  • Strong MS Office skills

  • Solid knowledge of Tax and VAT

  • Reliability, initiative and customer-service orientation

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Strong time-management skills
