Accountant

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join their team and oversee a broad range of financial operations, including month-end closing, management reporting, credit control, payroll and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run the month-end close: accounting entries, reconciliations, monthly management accounts and cash flow reporting

• Bank reconciliations and preparation of payments for approval

• Issue sales invoices and check supplier, agent and carrier invoices

• Credit control: agree credit terms with customers, monitor balances against those terms, and follow up on overdue invoices

• VAT and Social Insurance returns, monthly payroll, budgets and audit support

• Deputise for the Accounting Manager, and take over the department in due course

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance

• ACCA / CIMA / CPA, qualified or well advanced towards qualification

• At least 3 years' relevant experience

• Sound knowledge of Cyprus VAT, payroll and social insurance obligations

• Fluent Greek and English

• Confident with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly pick-up in-house systems
